ANVILS SLIP UP AGAIN AFTER TAKING THE LEAD

Anvils started the better of the sides with an early Josh Alcock cross being taken by keeper Jordan Matthews, on 12 mins Steve Major setup Mo Shuga'a whose fierce shot was again claimed by Matthews, combination of Shuga'a and Major led to the latter heading just wide as the Anvils looked to have set their stall out early.

After this initial flurry the visitors started to find their feet with tall forward Ash Harper getting round Blair Cooney but finding keeper Seb Bos ready to take the shot, on 20 a free kick by Sam Enticott found Matt Noble who found space to test Bos yet again, Wick & Barnham started to look ominous going forward with Noble trying his luck again from 30 yds.

For the Anvils though on the receiving end, suddenly had a change of fortune when on 38 Shuga'a on another charge down the left crossed for Major to get ahead of his marker and head the Anvils in front. 1-0 Anvils.

It was now the visitors turn to stretch the Anvils defence with Harper shaking off a defender but firing at Bos yet again, on 40 however they restored parity when from a counter attack Hutchins was on hand to drive home the equaliser. The remaining minutes were played out with more chances for the visitors mainly thro Hutchins as the half ended all square at 1-1.

For the start of the second half an early Anvil substitution with the injured Charlie Dodd being replaced by James Upton, but another Anvil setback came on 49 when the burly Ash Harper bustled his way through a hesitant Anvil defence to notch the visitors second. 1-2 WB.
On 52 Ciaran Steers aided by fullback Jacob Wright were making good progress down the right flank and several times they carved open the visitors left side with either one or the other getting in good crosses, on the hour Steers had a dip from 30 yds that just cleared the bar. On 64 Anvils brought on Steve Haliday and just after another Shuga'a free kick caused a scramble in the visitors box before being cleared.

But the counter was never far away and on 62 visitors dangerman Hutchins put in a cross that the oncoming Matt Noble could only head against the upright, but danger was always there and come 69 from yet another long ball Harper was able to smash home his second and the visitors third. 1-3 WB.

On 73 it was Wrights turn to test keeper Matthews with a free kick that the keeper turned away, on 85 and then the outstanding Scott Johnson had a run from the halfway line finishing with a shot just wide, plenty of Anvil huff and puff with Alcocks free kick clearing both wall and bar, but all to no avail as yet another reverse was chalked up. FT 1-3 Wick & Barnham.
