Anvils win 4-1 in their 6th & last Friendly Match on Saturday. They went 1-0 down before an inspired 2nd period won them the match.

Friendlies can be a bit of a guessing game at times in respect of a teams hopes for the coming season, with players still undecided where to roost, and managers working in a short space of time trying to get a compatible squad together.

Todays game could have been a case in point with the Robins ( according to their keeper ) somewhat understrength, whilst the Anvils in comparison looked formidable going forward and look to be blending into a useful outfit, but as we know friendlies and league fixtures can be rather like 'chalk and cheese',

Though being behind at half time to a single goal which was about the only shot the Robins had in the half, whereas the Anvils showed a great purpose to pepper the Robins goal thro out without getting their due reward.

Come the second half and those chances suddenly turned into goals, with ex Billingshurst strike pairing of Brooker and Leslie running amok upfront, with also right midfielder no.7 showing plenty of pace down the flank, plus fullback Shurmani and with Anvil favourite Sam Cane adding the icing to the cake by heading home a beauty on 75 to end the scoring on a satisfactory afternoon, what with four goals and the sun above, what more could one really ask for?
