Bridges took up the early running with Darryl Siaw testing Anvil keeper Seb Bos, come 5 and a combination of Connor French and Siaw could only find the keeper again, after this early pressure they were to be shocked when fullback Harry Lowe on a charge found Amaraloo Glloga who in turn squared to Oli Leslie who made no mistake. 1-0 Anvils.

Bridges, feathers suitably ruffled then had Connor French heading wide a Lee Hall freekick, followed by Nathan Crabb whose miss kick was smothered by Bos.

Anvils continued to press forward, with a Dan Sullivan freekick taken by keeper Kieran Thorp, on 17 Williams Peauroux entered the referees book, just after Josh Alcock from 30 yds fired over the bar as the Anvils strived to get that second goal.

Bridges finished the half with Crabb’s shot being kneed away by Bos as he narrowed the angle, plus a couple of shots from Siaw, one wide and the other pushed away by the admirable Bos. HT 1-0 Anvils.

Anvils started the half on top with a Sullivan freekick on 50 being bundled home, but the linesman cut the celebrations with a wave of his flag, Mike Spence captain for the day and working hard in midfield as always, then had his shot pushed away by Thorp, come 52 and a game changing incident when Bos and Bridges Michael Campbell clashed in the box, which resulted in Campbell taking an early bath.

But any false Anvil hopes of an easier ride were soon 'thrown to the wind' as the homesters dug deep, whilst the Anvils 'took their foot off' the peddle. Come the hour though an Anvil chance came and went as a Sullivan cross found Ollaga whose first time shot crashed against the upright and away, a goal then would surely have settled the tie. Bridges took their good fortune forward and on 62 a Liam Collins ball found Jenson Grant in space to quickly turn and drive past the exposed Bos. 1-1.

With their tails now up the homesters pressed well as the game swayed their way, whilst the Anvils defended in numbers, with Bos producing a fantastic flying save from French on 80, but with extra time now looming, the Anvils were to be dealt a crushing blow on 90, when all the Bridges pressure finally paid off when the elusive Crabb once again got free to fire home. FT 2-1 Bridges.
