Anvils pick up 3 points on the road
Crawley Down picked up there second win in a row as they beat Littlehampton Town on Saturday.
Micheal Belli put the Anvils in front after Sam Cane found him in the box, Belli drove across before shooting into the bottom left hand corner on the hour mark as the away team had the best of the first half and up until then looked in control.
The home side reacted and following a few substitutions began to come back into the game. Firstly hitting the woodwork following a shot in the box and then pulling a goal back through Dean Janman on 82mins to make it 1-1.
With the minutes ticking down, the away team pushed on looking for a deserved winner and it came on 90mins. A free kick was flicked on to find Lee Thomas in the box, he turned and had his shot blocked by a Littlehampton defender , which span out to Belli who hit an unstoppable shot from an angle at close range to seal the 3 points and make it 1-2.
CDG manager Paul Cooper said: “It was a great reaction by the group after Littlehampton pulled the goal back. With 10mins to go it would have been easy to accept the point, but the boys had worked hard all game and certainly deserved more so I am pleased we got it. To go on a little run is important as it gets that winning mentality installed in them and allows us to climb the table”.
