EUA made the first noise with a curling shot from Scott Taylor being turned away by keeper Andy Greaves, just minutes later Taylor again went near, but putting the shot wide, as the homesters took up the early running.
First Anvil chance came on 10 when a combination of Kieran Greig and Nick Sullivan led to a chance being fired well over. Come 18 and another charging run by Greig which was interrupted by the EB defence that had Greig hitting the ground, astonishment though all round as the referee then produced a 'yellow' to Greig for diving,
Anvils kept pressing though with Nick Sullivan bringing keeper Phil Hawkins to his knees with a snap shot as the Anvils midfield continued to supply the front runners.
Come 30 back came the hosts with first Kane Penn and Taylor causing a bit of commotion in the Anvil box before being hacked clear. Anvils under a little pressure at this time were still holding up well, and toward the end of the half Dan Sullivan’s charge down the flank and cross somehow managed to evade everyone as it flashed across the EB goalmouth. Come 42 though EB went ahead when the nippy Adebola Sotoyinbo’s cross found the willing Cooper to glance the ball home. 1-0 EB.
But the Anvils were not deterred and minutes later Dan Sullivan out right was able to fire home thro a crowded box and restore parity at a goal a piece as the whistle ended the 1st Period.
HT 1-1

A Dan Sullivan free kick was taken by Hawkins, fellow striker Thomas then had Hawkins on his knees with a shot, come 56 a Michael Belli shot was pushed out only as far as Russell Malton who had two shots somehow charged down by the Bourne defence, come the hour, change on the Anvil bench with Oli Leslie replacing Greig, Further pressure from the Anvils as Oli Leslie went close from Dan Sullivan’s cross.
Although the Anvils were bossing the 2nd Half the homesters still looked dangerous with the tall Sotoyinbo stretching the Anvils with his pace, With 87 minutes on the clock, he supplied the cross that sub Lucas Mann was able to meet to give EB the lead. 2-1 EB.
The Anvils pushed 3 up front in the final mins putting EB under some pressure and had several chances to equalise, the best coming as Oli Leslie was put through on goal but Hawkins narrowed the angle well to deny the Anvils an equalising goal.
