Anvils made it three wins in the past four, after overcoming the Robins at a balmy Beacon today. Anvils without Nick Sullivan, used Mike Spence to play the role of a 'ghost' no 9, with licence to roam, which he accomplished well thro out.

Anvils started brightly with an early Dan Sullivan corner cleared, with another just to strong, striker Oli Leslie also had a half chance, on 17 mins the Anvils did find the net, but an offside flag denied the celebrations.

For the Robins an early Liam Benson cross drifted well wide of the target, this being followed by a Spencer Slaughter snap shot, come 15 and possibly the best chance with Rowe-Hurst heading over a Harry Mills free kick, and to round off this spell on 22 a Lewis Westlake free kick being taken by Bos.

Anvils now started to take over, with first a determined charge down the right flank by Russell Malton before being halted, not to be left out Josh Martin did similar on the left finishing with a strong shot that had keeper Nat Stroomberg scrambling the ball away, come 34 and the Anvil break thro came with Michael Belli breaking from midfield then feeding Lee Thomas who drove on before lashing the ball home past the exposed Stroomberg. 0-1 Anvils.

The remaining minutes of the first half had a Williams Peauroux freekick, after a foul on Malton, sail past the far post, and with virtually the last kick of the half a Sullivan cross was headed over by Thomas. HT 0-1 Anvils.

Second half, the Robins came out more fired up and had an early chance, with a Westlake corner straight across the face of goal, then both Benson and Hart Rowe having shots come back off the woodwork.

The Anvils after those early scares then settled down, with centre back pairing Blair Cooney and Sam Packham resuming command, whilst Spence, was living up to his roaming mantle and had a neat run into Robin territory before being stopped, then it was Belli setting up Leslie but the striker was unable to connect and the chance was gone.
Come 65 and from another sortie Leslie himself was hauled down in the box, penalty given and he tucked the ball home. 0-2 Anvils.

The Robins hit the Anvils on the break on 70 with Liam Benson Heading home from a corner.
1-2 Anvils.

It was change on the bench with Spence now being replaced by Kieran Greig who immediately set free Leslie, but missed the target, on 75 Sonny Barton replaced Martin who had taken a knock earlier, but come 83 it was game over, with Leslie out left cutting in to fire home from an acute angle past Stroomberg and put the Anvils home and dried as the final whistle blew.
FT 1-3 Anvils.
