The Anvils went behind as early as 2 mins when a cross from the right side was headed across Goal for the unmarked Dan Huet to volley home 0-1 Newhaven.
The Anvils from the start back peddled to a defensive position allowing Newhaven to control midfield without any pressure being applied. Newhaven controlled the 1st period and could have been several goals to the good by half time if it wasn't for some excellent defending from the Anvils back four and keeper Sam Smith.

2nd half the Anvils supporters were expecting some sort of revival and it was a little better to be fair but Sam Smith in the Anvil Goal was always the busier of the two keepers. Newhaven increased their lead late in the 2nd period to make it 0-2 and put the game out of reach for the Anvils who succumbed to yet another FA Cup defeat at the first hurdle.
