Mike Oak deservedly went through to the 1st Rd proper of the FA Vase with a 6-4 victory at The Haven.
Mile Oak came out of the blocks with all guns firing and largely dominated the 1st period.
They went one up on with just 5 mins on the clock and continued their relentless pressure on the Anvils until on 28 Lewis Croal got the Anvils on terms. Just 4 mins later MO were back in front 2-1 and it stayed that way until HT.
2nd Half MO continued there pressure and after just 2 mins of the half took a two goal lead at 3-1.
The Anvils finally started to make inroads into the MO half and deservedly hit a 2nd through Oli Leslie, but just 2mins later MO hit a 4th goal. Back came CDG on 85 to make it 3-4 through Michael Wood only to be hit again on 87mins 3-5 MO
Ollie Moore reduced the deficit back to 1 on 87 4-5 and with the Anvils totally in control at this point and MO surviving some incredible near misses with CDG trying to get back on terms, MO broke through to win the match 6-4. An incredible match with MO deservedly going through to the next round of the Vase. We wish them Good luck in the next round.
