Crawley Down Gatwick U15s have completed a third achievement of an extremely successful season with the Anvils finishing as joint runners-up in Mid Sussex League Division Two.
The Anvils won 5-0 in their final game of the regular season on Sunday at home to promotion rivals Marle Place Rangers, which means they finish joint second with goal difference not counting this season. There will now be a promotion play-off.
This latest success is added to the Anvils winning the Mid Sussex League Plate Cup earlier this month and the U15s Hammers finishing runners-up in Horsham League Division Three.
On Sunday the Anvils were outstanding as they beat Marle Place with goals from Archie Shorland, Beau Heaver, Arya Rajabali, Henry Chandler and Daniel Tewogbade. All 16 players contributed to an excellent win, with goalkeeper Johan Kool saving a penalty.
