Excellent match at Lingfield for this 2nd Round match of the FA Vase.

Both sides fought hard throughout.

Anvils went ahead on 7mins through Rhys White and always looked dangerous going further ahead on 23 mins with a goal from Josh Brown,

2nd half was a more even contest. Lingfield pulled one back on 51mins 1-2 but the Anvils replied almost immediately on 54 mins with an excellent strike from Oli Leslie 1-3. A penalty for handball was destined to reduce the Anvils lead but an excellent save from Freddie Leather in the Anvils goal, diving to his left, kept Anvils lead. Lingfield did get one back on 94 mins just before the final whistle. Anvils go through to play Larkfield & New Hythe away in the 3rd Rd of the FA Vase.

Anvils exit the RUR at Newhaven with disappointing display. Newhaven hit 4 in the 1st half and the Anvils had at least that in chances missed. 2nd half a better performance with Newhaven scoring twice more before the Anvils finally got on the scoresheet through Ben Martin-Coward.

The first of 3 matches v Newhaven PB League Cup (Home)

Even game overall Newhaven scored early on. Anvils drew level before HT and Newhaven scored again within a minute of the 2nd half starting. Chances for each side during the rest of the 2nd half but both defences held tight.

Not the best of performances against a very strong EBU side. Anvils started brightley and the game was pretty even first half. Anvils went ahead after just 12mins through new signing Ronnie Reeves slamming home a loose ball in the EBU Penalty area. 0-1 Anvils. EBU started to get on top as the half went on and they equalised on 21 mins before going ahead on 29mins 2-1 EBU. HT 2-1 EBU

2nd Half EBU had shown late in the 1st half with both wings causing problems for the Anvils defence with their low square crosses being latched onto by the oncoming forwards. All of the three 2nd half goals scored on 50, 65 & 82mins came that way. EBU didn't have it all their way but scoring chances at the other end were few and far between.

Anvils upset the odds with a win against Table toppers Haywards Heath Town 2-1

Overall the game was evenly matched with both sides playing some good football.

Anvils went ahead on 16 mins with Matt Rapson heading in unopposed from a cross by Liam Holden. They held the lead until the 26th min with Haywards Heath equalising 1-1 The Anvils then scored again with another header through Njagga Jammahl John heading in another Liam Holden cross 2-1 Anvils

HT: 2-1

2nd Half both teams competed equally throughout. Haywards Heath having more possession but the Anvils looking more dangerous going forward.

No further goals were recorded despite some excellent play and chances for both sides.

Very even game throughout with both sides playing some excellent football. The Anvils opened the scoring on 17mins through Alex Tidy slotting home from close in. Frow equalised on 34 mins 1-1 and both teams cancelled each other out for the rest of the half.

2nd Half was equally close some good football played but no real chances at either end. The Anvils lost their Keeper after 68mins with a shoulder injury which took sometime to strap up and find the hiding Oli Leslie to replace him in goal. Play restarted after 15mins. Anvils brought on Harvey Hodge to replace Oli up front and U18 player George Farrar came on to add some pressure up front. No further goals were added and a fair result 1-1. 

425 Supporters bolstered by many Ground Hoppers were treated to a cracking football match in the first of the matches associated with Ground Hopper weekend. Supporters were also able to indulge in the hospitality that both the Haven Centre and the Football Club provided throughout the evening.

Little Common started strongly with The Anvils twice caught with breakaways after having passes intercepted, scoring in the 3rd and 26th minute. Indeed Little Common were denied a 3rd after being put through and hitting wide when it seemed easier to score. 0-2 LC

Something clicked in the Anvils camp at this point and twice Callum Kilkenny scored from a cracking free kick on 42 mins and again 4mins later slotting home. 2-2 at HT and all to play for.

2nd half Anvils turned the tide and mosley dominated throughout, Alex Tidy scoring on 50 mins and Zack Tarrant on 81 mins. Final Score 4-2.

Long into the Evening the Haven Bar was packed with supporters reminiscing  on the game and enjoying the refreshments provided.

Bragging rights turn back to the Wasps after their win on Tuesday evening.

Both teams worked hard in this derby match with the Wasps cancelling out their defeat at the hands of the Anvils earlier on in the season.

Wasps took an early lead on 18mins and went 2up just before 1/2 time. 2nd half was a closer affair but Wasps cemented their lead with a 3rd goal on 63mins. Anvils came more into the game late on but could not reduce the arrears.
