17/01/2026 - Sat 17th January: Anvils lose 1-2 at Cockfosters FA Vase R4

Anvils bow out of the FA Vase for this season.

Cockfosters started well pushing hard in the very soft conditions. The Anvils did have a few chances but in the main Cockfosters were on top. CF went ahead on 28 mins turning in a cross from the right side. HT: 1-0 CF

2nd half was a much more even affair with the Anvils creating chances but not able to find the net. Their chance to equalise came on 64mins when awarded a penalty for hand ball in the box. Unfortunately the CF keeper was able to parry the shot away and the follow up was cleared. More Anvils pressure caused panic in the CF defence but they had to wait until the 85th minute for a well taken goal from Sub Jacob Todman. Both sides worked hard for a winner and just as a Penalty shoot out was on the cards CF managed to slot home the winner on 90+3 Mins

Good luck to Cockfosters in the next round.
