We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Wayne Robinson to the Anvils family. He brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge of the women's game after many years with Qakwood, Crawley wasps and recently Dorking wanderers.
It was hugely important to us to find the right person, who has the same beliefs, drive and enthusiasm as we do here at cdgfc, to push and promote the womens game as it goes from strength to strength.
Our ambition is clear, we want a strong pathway for our youth section into a competitive and progressive women's senior team that we can all be proud of.
The committee are 100% committed to supporting the team to reach the highest levels possible and we are excited to see where this journey will take us.
Wayne said, thank you Dave and the club for giving me this opportunity. It is inspiring to have a committee who are truly committed to the future of women's football.
I am excited to play my part in the recreation of a women's team here at cdgfc.
There is already a fantastic girls youth section who I will hugely benefit from a clear pathway into senior football and we hope to see as many of them as possible in the first team over the coming years.
Time to get to work on building our squad. exciting times ahead!
CDGFC are thrilled to announce the return of Roger Crouch! Roger has previously managed our men's first team and coached our former women's team.
Since those early days Roger has developed into an FA coaching Tutor and Mentor and coached in many professional environments including Brighton and Hove.
Roger will be mentoring and supporting Wayne and the women's coaching staff and will be vital to the long term success of our dreams to become one of the biggest and most successful women's clubs in Sussex.
Welcome home Roger!

Many thanks to Junior Coordinator Howard Griggs for producing the excellent programme, Dave Connor for organising the Barbecue, Kerry Thompson & Lisa Mancey for organising the Girls Presentation & Mick Martin for hosting and not forgetting all those that helped setting up and clearing away before and after the two events.
Disapointing game at Midhurst meaning The Anvils finish in 6th position and just outside the Playoffs for promotion.
Overall the season was a good one and finishing 6th was above our expectations at the Season start. So well done to all the players and Management Team for their exceptional efforts this season.
The game itself started well for The Anvils as we dominated throughout the first half and with so many chances missed we could easily have been 4 up at the break instead of going in 0-0 at HT.
Midhurst packed their defence in the 2nd half and we could not find a way through and Midhurst caught us twice on the break to win what was really a one sided match. It happens in football, domination does not win games putting the ball in the back of the net does.
Onwards and upwards and look forward to another entertaining season 2025/26.
A hard fought match between the Anvils & Roffey. Anvils overall looked the most likely to score although both sides had numerous chances.
HT: 0-0
2nd half a solitary goal from Oli Leslie on 72 mins settled the bank holiday game. The Anvils remaining in 5th place with one match to go.

Today is extra special, as we support our local hospice St Catherine's. All entry fees will be donated and as a club we will round up the figure. Our hospice is a huge part of our community and our support is needed now more than ever. Most people in our local community will know of someone who has needed the services of St Catherine's, and how important they are at one of the most difficult times in life. Their care is only possible thanks to the generosity of local people like you, so lets get together and raise as much as we can.

Our first visit to Peacehaven on their new 3G pitch. It wasn't the result we wanted as we could not get to grips with the windy conditions. The first period we arguably were the stronger team but could not convert our chances. Peacehaven however went in at HT 1-0 up after scoring right on the HT whistle. 2nd half we competed well but playing against the wind we were always defending the game. PH played the windy conditions well and scored twice more in the 2nd half without reply to deservedly win the game.
Anvils & AFC drew two apiece in difficult conditions at the Withdean. Both sides struggled to get a grip of the extremely hard surface. Anvils went ahead 1-0 after just 5 mins after the Varndeanians keeper brought down Oli Leslie in the box and Oli dispatched the penalty 1-0 CD. Varndeanis drew level just before the break HT 1-1
2nd period Varndeanians took the lead 2-1 early on. But despite Anvils dominance they found it difficult to bridge the AFC packed defence. Oli eventually broke through to equalise 2-2. Several chances then came and went and the Anvils were denied two clear pens and a goal initially given late on.
Anvils win 3-2 against a good Bexhill side.
Lewis Gould put the Anvils ahead on 33 mins to give the Anvils a 1-0 HT Lead. 2nd half CDG were well in control after Oli Leslie made it 2-0 on 52mins Bexhill however turned the tables scoring twice in the 57th and 62nd min to get back on terms. At 2-2. Oli Leslie however put CDG back in the driving seat with another goal on 64mins. Both sides had further chances but couldn't add to the scoreline.
MOM this week goes to Captain Michael Spence
Another win keeps the Anvils in the driving seat for a top 5 finish. Good luck to Bexhill Utd for the remainder of the season.

Anvils were unlucky in this top 5 encounter. Crows were on top in the 1st half but The Anvils had the best of the 2nd half.
The Crows went 1-0 ahead on 28 mins from an arguably very soft penalty call. Despite chances for both sides HT score remained 1-0
2nd half Anvils worked hard and despite playing most of the half with 10 men they looked the most dangerous but could not find the back of the Crows net. FT: 1-0 Crows
